Claremont : Research Grant for Garden
Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden has received a $400,000 Academic Research Facilities matching grant from the National Science Foundation.
After the garden raises the matching $400,000, the grant will be used to fund a three-year project to improve research facilities at the garden, garden Director Thomas S. Elias said.
Two laboratories will be renovated, two research greenhouses will be replaced and a long-term seed storage facility will be built. The garden conducts research and works on preservation of native California plants.
