Bradbury : Mayor Picked for 6th Term

Share

The City Council has reelected John H. Richards to a sixth term as mayor and elected Audrey Hon as mayor pro tem, both by a 3-2 margin.

Councilwoman Beatrice LaPisto-Kirtley objected to the election last week, pointing out “the position (of mayor) has historically been rotated after two years” to the person next in line of seniority--LaPisto-Kirtley.

Bradbury Vote--A March 24 digest item reported incorrectly the Bradbury City Council’s vote reelecting Audrey Hon as mayor pro tem. She was returned to the post by acclamation.

City Atty. Ed Dilkes said council rules were not specific on the point.

Richards told LaPisto-Kirtley: “When you can collect three people that think you should represent the city, I will be happy to step down.”
