How about the Republic of Ireland?

Editor's note: The story referred to specified a listing of countries where English is the "official language," not just a country where English is spoken. An "official language" is one designated by the government as such. Although English is commonly spoken in both countries, neither the United States nor the Republic of Ireland have official languages.
