Restoration of Emir’s Palace

Why aren’t Americans getting as upset about Kuwait’s recent torture and killing of Palestinians as they did about Saddam Hussein’s alleged torture and killing of Kuwait’s people and his own?
Is it because Kuwait sells America the cheapest oil, so Kuwait can do whatever it wants and it’s OK?
According to Amnesty International, Kuwait is just as bad at violating human rights as Iraq has been purported to be. If the Gulf War were truly a war against evil, then why didn’t the allies tell the arrogant, wealthy emir that they would liberate Kuwait from Iraq only if Kuwait adopted a humane, democratic government?
So it truly was a “blood for oil” war after all. (And a chance for the United States to prove to the world that it is No. 1 in killing and destroying.)
