Marc Hodler, president of the International Ski Federation (FIS), tried in Waterville Valley, N.H., to smooth over problems concerning scheduling and administration of the World Cup ski tour.

Erich Demetz, head of the World Cup committee of the FIS, said Saturday that the United States wouldn’t be represented on the 1991-92 race schedule.

That prompted Max Renner of International Racing Teams, an association of ski boot and binding manufacturers, to accuse the World Cup committee of acting in disregard of manufacturers’ interests. Hodler, attending the presentation of World Cup championship trophies, said the FIS executive committee would seek “partnership with all groups, racers, manufacturers, sponsors, media.”
