Body Recovered of Man Who Jumped From Pier
The body of a perfume salesman who jumped off the Oceanside Pier last month as a joke was found Monday afternoon in Agua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad, the San Diego County medical examiner’s office said.
A San Diego Gas & Electric Co. dredge operator found the body of Jose Carbajal, 22, of Cardiff about 1:45 p.m. Monday near the Encina Power Plant, said Robert Engel, a medical examiner investigator.
Carbajal was with friends when he disappeared about 10:35 p.m. Feb. 5 after jumping off the pier as a joke, Engel said.
