A 16-year-old girl was killed Wednesday night and four others were injured in an auto accident in the 7200 block of Miramar Road, police said.

Sherelyn Joy Johnson of the 9000 block of Reagan Road died at Scripps Memorial Hospital at 7:05 p.m. of head and neck injuries, the coroner’s office said. Three of the injured were John Fry, 19; Thomas Stein, 21, and Judith Ward, 49. No name was released for the fourth person injured, who is a minor, according to a spokeswoman at the hospital. The four were treated for minor injuries and released.

Johnson was riding in the front seat of the car, which was traveling east on Miramar Road. The driver, whom police declined to identify, made a left turn onto Carroll Canyon Road against a red light, police spokesman Bill Robinson said, and a westbound pickup struck the car.
