This week’s rainstorms triggered a mudslide Friday at Tourmaline Surfing Park at the north end of Pacific Beach, San Diego lifeguards reported.
Nobody was hurt in the slide, which occurred around 4:45 p.m. A chunk of earth weighing about 10 tons fell from the cliff, lifeguard Karl Becker said.
“We’re just trying to get the word out so people will know, because the cliffs are so saturated and are so susceptible to moving,” Becker said.
