HOCKEY NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP : Northern Michigan Wins in 3 Overtimes

ST. PAUL, Minn. —
Darryl Plandowski scored 1 minute 57 seconds into the third overtime Saturday night, lifting Northern Michigan to its first NCAA hockey title with an 8-7 victory over Boston University.
Northern Michigan (38-5-4) lost a 7-4 lead with less than eight minutes to play in regulation. Plandowski and Scott Beattie each had a hat trick for the Wildcats. Boston University finished 28-11-2.
