A court acquitted Khaled Abdel Nasser, 41, eldest son of the late Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, of charges he financed and helped organize a terrorist group that attacked Israeli and U.S. diplomats. Fifteen other defendants were convicted, including the alleged leader of the group, after a 26-month trial. Nine of the 15 were sent to prison for life. Four were acquitted. The judgments are subject to review by President Hosni Mubarak. The defendants were accused of carrying out four terrorist attacks between 1984 and 1987 that killed two Israelis and injured six Israelis and two Americans.
