ART to Announce Its Fifth Season at Party Tonight
The Alternative Repertory Theatre plans to announce its fifth season at a party tonight launching the troupe’s subscription campaign.
The 1991-92 season at the 61-seat storefront theater will be an ambitious mix of classical drama: “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams (Sept. 20 to Nov. 6), “Brecht on Brecht,” a dramatized selection from Bertolt Brecht’s writings (Jan. 17 to March 14), and “The Tempest” by William Shakespeare (April 17, 1992, to June 13, 1992). The troupe will also present its annual Christmas production, a staged reading of Truman Capote’s “A Christmas Memory” and other Yuletide stories, Dec. 12 to 24.
ART’s approximately 180 subscribers have been invited to tonight’s champagne celebration on the set of Thornton Wilder’s “The Skin of Our Teeth.”
