Indigents Have Been Left Out in Vasquez’s Leaner County
Re Orange County Voices by Gaddi H. Vasquez (“Lean Times Demand More Efficient Leadership,” March 27): Webster defines airport as “a tract of leveled land where aircraft can take off and land, usually equipped with hard-surfaced landing strips, a control tower, hangars and accommodations for passengers and cargo.”
Vasquez reports that despite limited funding the county expanded John Wayne Airport tenfold.
Except for the multimillion-dollar terminal and accompanying car parking surfaces, what constitutes the remainder of the tenfold? I am not convinced that the airline pilots have any more hard surface to utilize. Nor do the airlines have any additional hangar space.
I would like a further definition of the reported “tenfold.”
