COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Sisco’s Hitting Streak at 19 Games as Titans Win

Share

Steve Sisco extended his hitting streak to 19 games as Cal State Fullerton defeated University of the Pacific, 13-2, in a fight-marred Big West Conference baseball game Saturday at Amerige Park.

Both benches emptied after a collision between Fullerton third-baseman Jason Moler and Pacific catcher Rob Barber turned into a scuffle. Moler purposely ran into Barber after being caught in a rundown in the third inning. Moler and Barber voluntarily left the game and were not ejected, which would have meant suspensions for each player.

Dan Naulty (4-2) pitched a four-hitter, striking out seven and walking three. He has allowed only two runs and nine hits in his past 18 innings. Naulty also hit two batters to tie the school record with 11 hit batsmen. Mark Beck (1988), Tim Thompson (1982 and ‘83), Eric Barry (1982) and Mike Belanger (1985) share the record.
