SIMI VALLEY : Gang Suspects Rob Visitor of $300
A man visiting Simi Valley from Chicago was robbed of $300 Thursday by several men described by authorities as gang members.
The incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. as Kevin Porter, 21, was walking on Cochran Street near Marvel Avenue, Simi Valley Police Lt. Neal Rein said.
Several men believed to be gang members based in Simi Valley were nearby and began shouting gang slogans, Rein said. The men, including one armed with a handgun, approached Porter and demanded his wallet, he said.
Porter handed over his wallet, which contained $300, and the group fled. Porter was not injured.
