COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Titan Women’s Tennis Team Defeats Cal State Northridge

Cal State Fullerton won four of six singles and two of three doubles matches to defeat Cal State Northridge, 6-3, in a nonconference women’s tennis match Thursday at Fullerton.

Kelli Moore won, 6-3, 6-0; Caroline Sporer won, 6-0, 6-0; Roseann Alva won, 7-6, 6-2, and Tracy Spellman won, 6-2, 6-4, for host Fullerton (13-11).

Northridge is 7-13.

In nonconference baseball:

UC San Diego 6, Southern California College 1--Brent Hasen pitched a four-hitter, struck out seven and walked two for UCSD (12-16). Doug Rystrom had a hit and picked up the RBI for host SCC (22-14).

In nonconference softball:

Christ College Irvine 4-8, Pacific Christian College 0-1--Michelle Vail (8-6) pitched a three-hitter in the first game and Lisa Merenda (11-7) pitched a three-hitter in the second game for host Christ College Irvine (20-14).

Pacific Christian College is 7-17.

Cal State San Bernardino 5-10, Southern California College 2-7--Stephanie Wills had two hits and an RBI and Joyce LaPoint had two hits in the first game for host Southern California College (13-13). LaPoint and Tracy Scofield each had two hits and two RBIs and Tammy Moore had a hit and two RBIs in the second game for SCC.
