Garden Plagued by Invasion of Squirrels

Q: My Calabasas garden is plagued by ground squirrels, tunneling everywhere and devouring the roots of my plants. I tried an electronic device with a vibrating sound to repel the rascals, but it quit working. What can I do to control these pests?

A: In my own garden I trap ground squirrels with a live trap and then relocate them in a less populated area. In some seasons I’ve chauffeuered as many as 20 of the pests up into the hills.
