MISSION VIEJO : Traffic-Reduction Strategy Approved

Share

An ordinance adopting a city strategy to reduce the number of cars on the roads was passed last week by the City Council.

By voting in favor of the ordinance, the city fulfills the requirements of Proposition 111, which will raise $10.5 billion in transportation revenues for cities throughout the state.

Cities must enact traffic-reduction measures to qualify for the funds. The Mission Viejo ordinance focuses on getting new business developments employing 100 people or more to implement alternative traffic strategies, such as ride-sharing.
