Winfield Is Angel of Week
Dave Winfield, who hit a career-high three home runs Saturday at Minnesota, has been named Angel of the Week by The Times’ Orange County Edition.
Winfield hit .409 and drove in 12 runs in five games. His teammates’ combined total for the week was 16 RBIs. Winfield, 39, is the major league’s active RBI leader with 1,528 and the active home run leader with 381.
A check for $250 in Winfield’s name will be given to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Orange County.
