Share

Proposed recycling plans for the city are available for public review and comment.

The plans, which include components for residential and commercial recycling, composting and hazardous waste management, were drafted to comply with a state law that requires all cities and counties to reduce the amount of waste destined for landfills 25% by 1995 and 50% by 2000.

The recommendations were developed by the consulting firm SCS Engineers, the city’s Recycling and Conservation Task Force and city staff. Copies of the plans are available at the library, 4975 Overland Ave., the city clerk’s office at 4095 Overland Ave., and the city yard, 9815 W. Jefferson Blvd. Comments must be submitted by April 26 to waste reduction coordinator Teri Chalmers, at 280-5950, or 9815 W. Jefferson Blvd., Culver City, 90232.
