Share

Organizers of the 35th Annual Conejo Valley Days festival will choose a grand marshal Friday to lead a parade April 27.

Three Thousand Oaks business leaders have selected Wild West monikers to match the cowboy image of the grand marshal competition. The finalists include Carlos (Caballero) Conejo, Wild Will Proffitt, and Jay (The Cowboy Capt’n) Schmidt.

The winner will be selected at a 7 p.m. fund-raiser at the Holiday Inn in Newbury Park. Judges will choose the grand marshal based on the finalist who raises the most money for charity in excess of $26,000, said Mike DeLeeuw, chairman of the Conejo Valley Days grand marshal committee.
