An overlooked factor in the audience jump among L.A. stations is that the Latino population that once tuned to Tijuana stations like XEMO-AM (860) or XEPRS-AM (1090) now have hometown stations offering the same programming. Surprisingly absent from the lengthy story, however, was any mention of KALI-AM (1430), which has been programming Spanish for most of its 50-year existence.
