San Diego
Two former members of the San Diego Job Corps program were sentenced Monday to three- and five-year terms in state prison for robbing illegal immigrants near the border.
William Barnes, 24, received a five-year term from San Diego Superior Court Judge Fred Link. Ruben Saucedo, 20, was sentenced to three years. Both were fined $200 each.
Awaiting sentencing on May 8 is Jason McAllister, 18, who is the former leader of a teen-age paramilitary group that harassed illegal aliens and was featured in a controversial story on “The Reporters” television program last year.
Donald Young, 22, was sentenced by Link to six years in prison March 29.
All four men pleaded guilty to three robbery charges stemming from the Aug. 30 holdups of eight people who had just crossed the U.S. border.
