Samantha Hadfield, a 21-year-old drama student in her junior year at Cal State Fullerton, won a major prize Sunday at the 23rd annual American College Theatre Festival, which ends today in Washington at the Kennedy Center. Hadfield, one of 16 national finalists competing for the Irene Ryan Acting Award, came away not with that award, but with a scholarship to the Chautauqua Theatre School in Chautauqua, N.Y., for her presentation of a scene from Sam Shepard’s “A Lie of the Mind” and a monologue from Dario Fo’s “Zooroy Orgasmo Adulto.”
