Former West Virginia quarterback Major Harris will not play in the Canadian Football League this season and will sit out 1991 in order to play in the NFL, his agent said.
Harris, a contender for the Heisman Trophy in 1989, passed up his senior season at West Virginia to play professionally. He was not picked in the NFL draft until the Raiders took him in the final round and he opted instead to sign with the British Columbia Lions.
