The next step in Orel Hershiser’s comeback from shoulder surgery will begin Wednesday night at Bakersfield when he pitches for the Dodgers’ Class-A California League team against Reno. At that point, Hershiser is on a 30-day timetable to rejoin the Dodgers. He will head west Monday or Tuesday. “I’m excited about going,” said Hershiser, who was pleased with the results of his latest simulated game Friday. “It’ll be nice to get some positive feedback after throwing in a game.”

The Dodger lineup was stacked with right-handed batters against left-hander Terry Mulholland on Saturday. Jose Gonzalez and Barry Lyons got their first starts of the season. . .
