LOCKWOOD VALLEY : 3 Hospitalized After Head-On Accident

Three people were injured Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision in Lockwood Valley, sheriff’s deputies said.

Witnesses said a motorcycle was speeding west on Lockwood Valley Road at 1:30 p.m. when it crossed the center line and hit a Ford Mustang, Deputy Michael Kennedy said. The accident occurred four miles south of Kern County, he said.

The motorcyclist and the two people in the car were taken to Ventura County Medical Center, Kennedy said.

A nursing supervisor said one man was in critical condition and undergoing surgery Sunday afternoon. The other two, identified as Carlyle Sanberg and Lenore Sneed, were in fair condition, nursing supervisor Patricia Gates said. Gates had no further information.
