Time-Share Firm Is Being Probed

Glen Ivy Financial Group, a major time-share resort company with sales offices around Southern California, is under investigation by the California Attorney General’s office for possible violations of telemarketing laws. State authorities began investigating after a Culver City man complained that he was promised a Cadillac or $25,000 if he attended a Glen Ivy sales presentation. Upon further inquiry, the man said he was told that he hadn’t won either but could pick up one of six prizes if he came to a Glen Ivy sales office. A salesman failed to follow a telemarketing script, a spokesman for Corona-based Glen Ivy said.
