One Killed, One Injured in Rail Station Shooting
A man who was shot at a Metro Blue Line station in Watts died Monday, and another man was hospitalized in critical condition, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
The shooting occurred about 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the station in the 8600 block of Graham Avenue, said sheriff’s spokesman George Ducoulombier.
Paramedics took both 21-year-olds to Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, where one man died shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, sheriff’s spokesman Gabe Ramirez said. The victims’ names were withheld pending notification of relatives. The men were approached by “three males, one of them riding a bicycle,” Ramirez said. “The one on the bike pulled out a gun and shot at them.”
