CAMARILLO : Boy, 9, Dies After Being Hit by Van
A 9-year-old boy died from injuries he suffered in a Camarillo traffic accident, sheriff’s deputies said.
The accident occurred at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday when Brian Arimura of Camarillo was crossing Mission Oaks Boulevard at Fieldcrest Drive, said Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Backman. Brian was struck by a van driven by Camarillo resident Yau Chen, 41, Backman said.
Brian was taken to Pleasant Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Backman said.
An autopsy performed Wednesday revealed the boy died of head injuries, Deputy Coroner Mitch Breese said.
No arrests have been made, and there has been no indication that Chen was at fault, Backman said. Authorities are still investigating, he said.
