CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : MARYSVILLE : 1 Killed, 1 Hurt as Crop-Dusters Crash

One pilot was killed and another seriously injured in the collision of their crop-dusting planes over the Sacramento Valley, the Yuba County Sheriff’s Department reported. Witnesses told deputies that the single-engine planes had been spraying herbicide on separate fields and each had completed passes at about 8:45 a.m. They turned into each other and collided about 100 feet above the ground while preparing for return passes. The accident took place about 10 miles north of Marysville.
