Lawyers for Cincinnati Reds general partner Marge Schott and her limited partners settled their court dispute over distribution of profits from the World Series champions.
It took more than eight hours of private negotiations to reach the settlement, which includes an agreement not to disclose terms.
Four of the eight limited partners alleged that the Reds made a $37.5-million profit between 1985 and 1989, but that Schott has refused to distribute $17.7 million of that amount. Schott has said the money needs to be held in reserve in the Reds’ bank account.
