Ryan Turns Down Keating Motions: The nation’s chief thrift regulator said he has denied motions by former thrift mogul Charles H. Keating Jr. and six associates to dismiss restitution charges seeking more than $130.9 million. Timothy Ryan, director of the Office of Thrift Supervision, said he had rejected claims by Keating that the OTS lacks authority to take administrative enforcement action stemming from the collapse of Lincoln Savings & Loan.
