Canadian Steve Bauer caught teammate Andy Bishop with half a mile left, then outsprinted a large pack of riders on a downhill finish to win the 121.7-mile seventh stage of the Tour Du Pont bicycle race to Hot Springs, Va.

Norway’s Atle Kvalsvoll, who took the overall lead Tuesday by winning the sixth stage, maintained a 48-second margin over Holland’s Erik Breukink. Three-time Tour de France winner Greg LeMond finished 27th in the lead pack and moved up from 29th to 22nd place, 4:31 behind Kvalsvoll, his teammate.
