A silent auction of sports memorabilia owned by George Allen will be held Saturday in Palos Verdes to benefit a youth baseball diamond named after the late football coach of the Rams, Washington Redskins and Cal State Long Beach. Carl A. Capozzola, who was Allen’s lawyer until Allen died of a heart attack last December, said a signed Wayne Gretzky hockey stick and Magic Johnson basketball also will be auctioned.
