CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : RICHMOND : Plane Crashes Into Car on Interstate
A small plane on a training flight crashed into a car on Interstate 80 on Saturday. The car’s driver was slightly hurt but the student pilot and instructor were uninjured, police said. The two-seat Cessna 152, which was heading east, came down in the eastbound lanes. It was unclear whether the pilot was attempting an emergency landing, said California Highway Patrol spokeswoman Sgt. Pat Tracy. The plane was flying out of the Oakland airport, and the student and instructor are members of a flying club at UC Berkeley, Tracy said.
