California IN BRIEF : FRESNO : 14th Bomb Found Near IRS Building

A 14th pipe bomb has been found seven weeks after the first of a series of devices was launched at the Internal Revenue Service Center here. A resident pulling weeds discovered the latest pipe bomb in ivy across the street from the sprawling income tax processing facility in southeast Fresno. Police said the device apparently was launched at the same time as the previous pipe bombs and is not being investigated as a new attack on the center. A bomb squad removed the device. The first pipe bomb was discovered across from the IRS center March 31. The next day several pipe bombs were launched at the center from a nearby field. No one was injured. A organization called Up the IRS Inc. took responsibility for the bombings.
