GARDEN GROVE : School Boundaries to Be Reviewed
- Share via
The Garden Grove Unified School District will consider proposed attendance boundary changes for the 1991-92 school year that would affect about 335 students, a district spokesman said Thursday.
The changes, to be discussed at a board meeting June 4, are intended to balance enrollment at intermediate schools, ease overcrowding at Heritage and Marshall elementary schools and increase enrollment at Paine and Carrillo elementary schools, district spokesman Alan Trudell said.
About 91 intermediate and 245 elementary school students would be affected by the changes. A 15-member committee composed of parents, staff and a student recommended the changes to the district May 7.
Informational sessions for parents will be held at six schools before the June 4 Board of Education meeting.
Meetings for elementary school parents will be held Tuesday at Carrillo and Marshall elementary schools and on Wednesday at Heritage Elementary School. For parents of students entering seventh grade next year, meetings will held Tuesday at Excelsior Elementary School, Wednesday at Anthony Elementary School and Thursday at Paine Elementary School.
