Los Angeles police detectives and federal agents raided a Cerritos home Thursday and seized an estimated 1,300 pounds of cocaine and two crates of ammunition for an assault rifle.

Los Angeles officers working with the FBI and agents from the Immigration and Naturalization Service raided the home at 12378 Charlwood St. about 5:45 p.m., Deputy Police Chief William Booth said.

The raid was the result of the continuing investigation into the seizure of 3,300 pounds of cocaine from a home in Whittier on May 15, Booth said.

No cash was found at the Cerritos home, but detectives found two crates of ammunition for an AK-47 assault rifle, he said. No weapons were found Thursday night, but detectives did find an AK-47 in the raid on the Whittier home last week.

No arrests were made Thursday night, Booth said.

Last week, five people were arrested and nearly 1 1/2 tons of cocaine valued at about $400 million was seized from a home at 10760 Bonavista Lane in Whittier. A small amount of cash also was seized.

Four men and one woman were arrested in that raid. Two men were identified as Mexican nationals and the other two as Colombians. The woman is from Bolivia.

Booth said authorities raided the Whittier home just before the drugs were about to be distributed.
