Oakland pitcher Dave Stewart pronounced himself ready to return to the Athletics’ starting rotation after throwing in a simulated game Thursday. Sidelined since May 9 with a pulled muscle in his rib cage, Stewart threw 41 pitches during the workout that was completed in 25 minutes before the A’s game Thursday night against the Chicago White Sox.
