Cramped offices in the engineering and planning sections of Camarillo City Hall will soon be expanded as part of a project that will add 2,500 square feet of space to the building, a city official said.

On Wednesday, the Camarillo City Council approved the architectural firm of James H. Asbell & Associates of Camarillo to design the expansion. The cost of the design is not to exceed $22,350, said Dan Greeley, director of engineering services for the city.

Construction is expected to be completed by the spring of 1992 at a cost of $300,000 to $350,000.

The construction will not change the appearance of the exterior of the building, Greeley said.
