HBO’s Lineup Card: HBO, meanwhile, has lined up some heavy hitters for a baseball tribute titled “When It Was a Game.” James Earl Jones, Jason Robards and Roy Scheider will contribute readings to the hourlong July 9 documentary, which HBO says will feature rare color baseball footage from the 1930s to 1950s. The never-been-seen 8-millimeter and 16mm color film shows such legendary players as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio and Jackie Robinson.
