OJAI : School Aide Laid Off Over Lack of Work
One instructional aide was laid off and a second had her hours reduced by the Ojai school board Tuesday night.
The board voted to lay off Joyce Lane and cut Sharon McColloch’s hours from nine to six a week.
Lane and McColloch are instructional aides at Meiners Oaks Elementary School.
McColloch’s hours were reduced because of a lack of work, and funding for Lane’s salary was redirected to another program.
The board’s actions become effective July 30.
