3 Men Accused of Exceeding Limits on Campaign Gifts

Share

Three Californians have been accused by a bipartisan watchdog commission in Washington of exceeding federal limits on campaign contributions before the 1990 election.

Joseph J. Bogdanovich of Rolling Hills, chairman of Sun-Kist Foods; A. Jerrold Perenchio of Los Angeles, a former producer with Embassy Pictures, now with Chartwell Partnership; and Peter B. Bedford of Lafayette, a principal owner of Bedford Properties and Bedford Development, were named in a complaint filed with the Federal Elections Commission by the Center for Responsive Politics.

The complaint alleges that they failed to observe the $25,000 annual limit on contributions to federal candidates.

Neither Bogdanovich nor Perenchio could be reached for comment. A spokesman for Bedford denied the allegations.
