Sen. John Seymour

How appalling and depressing to read (“Seymour Real Estate Ties Illustrate Ethical Dilemma,” Part A, May 27) that Gov. Pete Wilson appointed John Seymour to the Senate because of his fund-raising “talents.” Raising money for campaign funds is the pursuit that has stolen America from its people. Congressmen now represent only the special interests that donate so generously to their damnable campaign funds. They should be abolished.
And California needs a senator whose principal talent is fund-raising and whose highest value it “becoming a millionaire” like it needs the plague.
