Marion Merrell Dow Inc., Kansas City, Mo., has named President Fred W. Lyons Jr. to the additional position of chief executive, effective Jan. 1. The company said Lyons will succeed Joseph G. Temple Jr. Temple, who guided Marion Merrell Dow since it was formed by a merger in December, 1989, will continue as chairman.
