Artists Sought to Aid Balboa Park Growth
Artists with an interest in Balboa Park are wanted.
Wallace Roberts & Todd, a San Diego-based architecture and landscape architecture firm, is preparing a precise plan for the 700 acres of San Diego’s Balboa Park known as East Mesa, an area that includes the golf course, tennis courts and softball fields east of the cultural heart of the park.
The firm is seeking the collaboration of one or two artists through a competitive process to help prepare the plan.
The artists will participate in a consultant team studying the park’s design history, as well as the environmental and implementation issues, and will help develop a philosophy about what the park should become.
