WORLD IN BRIEF : LEBANON : PLO Reportedly to Quit South Region

The Palestine Liberation Organization has agreed to withdraw its guerrillas from part of south Lebanon and allow Lebanese government troops to take control, according to Agriculture Minister Mohsen Dalloul, who met with the PLO. The Syrian-backed government plans to send thousands of troops next month to the port of Sidon, 25 miles south of Beirut, and the surrounding area.
