A 22-year-old man was in serious condition Friday after being stabbed in Balboa Park, police said.
Carlos Quintana, no address available, was in the park, at Balboa Drive near Juniper Street, with a friend shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday and became involved in a fight with him, apparently over drugs, said police spokesman Bill Robinson. The man stabbed Quintana in the chest and head before he fled on foot.
Quintana was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he is in serious condition, a hospital spokesman said. Quintana’s assailant is still at large, Robinson said.
