Gardener’s Checklist

For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:

Water tomatoes, melons and cucumbers deeply every five to seven days for large crops.

Dust grapes with sulfur for powdery mildew and bunch rot.

Fertilize fuchsias and tuberous begonias with fish emulsion.

Feed citrus and avocados with a good citrus food.

Deep water and fertilize trees with a root irrigator.
