OXNARD : Car Show to Help Big Brothers/Big Sisters

Car buffs will have a chance to view the rarely seen collection of cars from the Vintage Museum of Transportation and Wildlife in Oxnard on July 14, during a fund-raiser for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Ventura County.

The Oxnard Police Department also will sponsor a car show, located next to the museum at Statham Boulevard and Emerson Avenue near Oxnard Boulevard.

The show, Cops and Cruisers II, will feature antique automobiles, race cars and street rods. It is free to the public, but entrance to the museum in $10, said Nick Terpolilli, an organization spokesman.

The event will begin at 10 a.m., featuring food, games for children and live entertainment. More than 85 trophies for the most outstanding cars at the show will be awarded at a 3 p.m. ceremony.
